Sharon Richardson, age 82, of North Mankato, MN died Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato, MN. Funeral will be held at 11 am on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Private burial at Zion Lutheran Church cemetery in Hanska, MN.
Sharon was born March 3rd, 1940 in Hanska, MN to Raymond and Harriett Haugen. She married Arleigh “Mike” Richardson, Jr. on July 5, 1957. One month before Mike’s passing in August 2022 they celebrated 65 years of marriage. They are now reunited in Heaven.
Sharon worked in the accounts payable department at Minnesota State University for many years. After retirement Sharon and Mike became full-time RVers for several years before settling back in Mankato. She took great pride in her four daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Sharon was a diehard Vikings and Twins fan.
She is survived by her daughters, Vaughn (Al) Engelby of North Mankato; Carla (Jim) Gitter of New Ulm; Tania (Doug) Miller of St. Clair; Shelley Chappell of Midland, TX. Grandchildren, Matt Engelby, Jenny (Scott) Bloomquist, Sarah (Jake) Tolzmann, Travis Gitter (special friend Alyssa), Jared Gitter (special friend Mandy). Eight great-grandchildren. Sister Val (Jim) Sellner, Brother Cameron Haugen and several nieces and nephews.
Sharon is preceded in death by her husband Mike and her parents; father and mother-in-law Arleigh (Irma) Richardson Sr.; brother, Harmon Haugen; sister, Charlene Ogle; sister-in-law’s, Urella Peyton and Sue Peyton; brother-in-law Robert Peyton; brother-in-law Roger Richardson.
