Shirley Ann Ashpole, 88, of Mankato, died November 21, 2025 at home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Shirley was born August 3, 1937 in Mapleton MN to Christian and Lillian (Schroeder) Roessler. Shirley was united in marriage to Dale Ashpole on May 20, 1963 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Minnesota Lake. Shirley was a bookkeeper for the family business, Ashpole’s Auto Repair, and a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time at the cabin, working on arts and crafts, listening to music, watching the Twins, Timberwolves, Vikings and game shows.
Shirley is survived by sons Rick Ashpole (Nicole Lundgren) of Mankato, Randy Ashpole (Stacey) of Maple Grove; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband Dale; parents: Christian and Lillian Roessler; 6 brothers: Harold Roessler, Melvin Roessler, Don Roessler, Bill Roessler, Robert Roessler, Milo Roessler, 4 sisters: Marcella Talberg, Thelma Pennoyer, Lorna Hawker, and Phyllis Ashpole; great grandchild Jazmyn Ashpole.
