  Shirley L. Mikle, age 94 of Sauk Rapids, formerly of Mankato, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022.

  Memorial services will be Friday, May 13, 2022 at 11 A.M. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Mankato with Rev. Cindi Brickson, officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.

  The Mikle Family will greet friends on Friday afternoon following services during lunch and fellowship at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Shirley’s name may be given to: Minnesota Stroke Association www.strokemn.org  Woodland Hills Funeral Home of Mankato is handling arrangements.

  Shirley LaRae was born on July 21, 1927 to Harvey Leroy and Hulda Elizabeth (Johnson) Sarff in Eagle Bend, Minnesota. She graduated from high school and went on to earn her degree as a Registered Nurse. On July 31, 1948 she was united in marriage to Theodore P. Mikle in Eagle Bend. After their marriage they moved their family to Mankato. For many years she was employed by Immanuel Hospital in Mankato as an RN. She enjoyed going to her lake cabin, the casino and reading. Shirley loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  She is survived by her sons, Theodore “Ted” (Suzanne) Mikle Jr. of St. Cloud, Joel (Patricia) Mikle of Worthington; grandchildren, Allison Mikle, Kelsey Dennison, Christine Dawson, Abby Foley, Steffen Kuronen; great-grandchildren, Jayden Mikle-Haag, Elise Dawson, David Dennison, Annabelle Dennison, Wyatt Foley, and Evelyn Foley; by many other relatives and friends.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore P. Mikle; sisters, Francis and Betty; brother, Warren.
