Sondra Szallar of North Mankato died at the age of 89 at Oak Terrace Nursing Home on May 4, 2022. The funeral will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in N. Mankato on Wednesday, May 11th at 11:00 am. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral. Internment at Woodland Hills Cemetery.

Sondra was born to Grace & Herman Yungerberg on March 21st, 1933. Graduated from Mankato High School in 1951, and was married on October 12, 1951 to Ronald Szallar of Wells, MN. She also ran a licensed daycare out of her home for 25 years, and enjoyed caring for many children

Her and Ronald were married for 70 years and enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards and long walks together. She enjoyed spending time with family and all her grandchildren.

She was survived by her husband Ronald, daughter Susan Bair and friend Bob Meyer, daughter Rhonda and husband Gary Martinson, daughter Denise and husband Kenneth Schmit. 12 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren, 5 Great-Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Sondra was preceded in death by her father Herman, her mother Grace, brother Farrell Yungerberg, brother Darwin Yungerberg and his wife Phylis and son-in-law Curtis Bair.
