Steven Clarence Johnson, 78, passed away March 7, 2025 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato, MN. He was born November 13, 1946 to Clarence and Ardyce (Heljeson) Johnson of Lake Crystal, MN. Steve graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1965. After High School he moved to California where he worked in the airliner manufacturing industry. Steve returned home to farm in the early 1970’s. He farmed the family farm and drove truck until he retired in 2017. Steve met his very special friend, Sandra Knapp, in 1984. They lived on the farm until he retired then moved to North Mankato in 2017. Steve enjoyed going to his lake home up north with Sandy and the many cruises they went on. His hobbies included snowmobiling and deer hunting. Steve was a member of the Mankato Eagle’s Club, the Elks, and a Shriner. He enjoyed driving the Shriner’s cars in parades around southern Minnesota. Steve also donated to the Shriner’s Hospital.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his very special friend, Sandra Knapp, and step son Shawn Prouty. He is survived by step daughters, Susette (Mark) Swedberg of Mankato and Michelle Ann Prouty of San Antonio, TX and their children and grandchildren, and many friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. All services will be held in the cemetery. woodlandhillsfh.com
