Steven Wayne Graves

Steven Wayne Graves, age 66, of Mankato died peacefully Monday, November 21, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato with Chaplain Jerry David officiating.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Woodland Hills Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Steven was born September 13, 1956 in Rockford, IL to Chester A. and Esther (Lockart) Graves, Jr.  He grew up in Rockford and graduated from Auburn High School.  On November 19, 1984 he met Bonnie Christen and they have been together since.  In 2004 they moved to Mankato.  Steven loved dogs, especially his dog “Carmen”.  He loved visiting the Minnesota waterfalls and spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

Steven is survived by Bonnie Christen; his children, Steven (Jessica) Graves, II, DeShawn Graves, Jesse (Amy) Graves, Scorpio DeBerry, Jarrell Graves, LeVanté Graves all of Mankato and Jeremy (Leisha) Graves of Iowa; 16 grandchildren; spectacular mothers of 6 of the grandchildren, Lindsay Huhn and Stephanie Vetter both of Mankato; brothers, Hashim Kamau, Arthur E. Graves, and Gary N. Graves all of Rockford, IL.; sisters, Gloria (Paul) Hyatte and Angela (Kevin) Graves both of Rockford, IL. And Tina (Dante) Richardson of Topeka, Kansas; a very special cousin, Charles Payne of Chicago, IL; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; special friend, Jay Zickhur of Rockford, IL.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Chester R. Graves
