Thomas G. Schaible, age 84 of Eagle Lake, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 1 P.M. at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato, with Fr. Andrew Whiting IVE, and Fr. Robert Schneider, Concelebrating. Interment with military honors will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.
Visitation will be on Friday, afternoon from 4-7 P.M. at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato, and will continue on Saturday afternoon for one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements by Woodland Hills Funeral Home of Mankato. www.woodlandhillsfh.com
Thomas Grant was born on December 27, 1938 to Clarence Harry and Mildred Irene (Anderson) Schaible in Mankato, Minnesota. On January 28, 1958 he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Orléans France. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge on December 22, 1960. On January 4, 1960 he was united in marriage to Janice Mary Bruender at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. After their marriage Thomas and Janice moved to Eagle Lake to raise their family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and antiquing. Thomas especially loved spending time with his family, and his friends.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janice; sons, Kent (Vicki) Schaible, Scott (fiancé Bobbi) Schaible; daughter, Kim (Shaun) Friedrich; grandchildren, Nick Schaible, Dan (Marin) Schaible, Kati (Sam) Parker, Courtney (Dalton) Alcorn, Abby Friedrich, Cole Schaible, Carter Schaible; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Grace, Oliver, Nora, Owen; brother, Steven (Barb) Koehler; sisters, Nancy Schaible, Diane Patrick, Phyllis (Mike) Brunswick, Karen (Dick) Thorman; sister-in-law, Carol Schaible; by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mildred Schaible; step-father, Heini Koehler; surrogate parents, Henry and Thora Bruender; infant sister, Gloria Koehler; siblings, Ronnie Koehler, Bill Schaible, Mary Ann Caswell, Rick Koehler, Bob Schaible, Norm Schaible, Harriet Glackler.
