Verona M Oachs

Verona M. Oachs, age 88 of North Mankato, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Laurels Peak Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.  Funeral service will be Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11 A.M. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in North Mankato.   Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.  Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 9 A.M. until the hour of services at the church.    Verona Marian was born on February 21, 1933 to Amanda (Wieseke) Funke in Mankato, Minnesota. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1952. On March 20, 1954 she was united in marriage to Milton Oachs in North Mankato. For many years she was employed by Valley News in the packing and shipping department, retiring in 1995. Verona enjoyed bingo, baking, playing cards, and especially loved being a grandmother.

   She is survived by her sons, Allan (girlfriend Chris) Oachs of Mankato, Michael Oachs of Mankato, Steven Oachs of Mankato; grandchildren, April Oachs, Tony Oachs, Amy Oachs, Tim Oachs, Krystle (Brandon) Brewer, Becky (Mark) Jones; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Caleb, Isaiah, Evan, Avri, Domenic, Ryleigh, Hazel; by other relatives and friends.

   She was preceded in death by her mother, Amanda Funke; husband, Milton; son, Dennis; sister, Jeanie Funke; brothers, Ruben Funke, Wilbert Funke, Bernie Funke
