Wayne Robert Cattrysse

Wayne Robert Cattrysse, age 80, of St. Peter, MN died Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Laurels Peak in Mankato.  Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.  Woodland Hills Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Wayne was born November 14, 1942 in Mankato, MN to Emil and Agnes (Suess) Cattrysse.  He graduated from Loyola High School in 1960 and then served on the USS Gridley in the US Navy from 1961-1965.  On November 11, 1968 he married Diane Dallam.  They later divorced.  On September 27, 1990 he married Gwendolynn Hoerth in Lake Crystal, MN.

Wayne worked at Mankato Citizen’s Telephone Company, later known as Hickory Tech, for 34 years.  He enjoyed reading, golf, family get togethers and playing cards.  Wayne belonged to soft ball and fast pitch baseball leagues, later joining the senior soft ball league and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.  He was a member of American Legion Post 518.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Gwen; sons, William (Jackie) Cattrysse of New Brighton, MN, Kurt (Jean) Hoerth of Oakdale, MN; daughters, Sherry (Tom) Ziebarth of Lake City, MN, Katherine Cattrysse of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Sarah Ziebarth, Greyson (Hailie) Hoerth, Harrison Hoerth, Justice Arnd and Jackson Arndt; great grandson, Liam Hoerth; brother, Al (Joyce) Cattrysse of North Mankato, MN; sister, Joan (Ted) Genlin of North Mankato, MN; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerome and Dale, and sister, Elaine Cattrysse.
