Woodland Hills Funeral Home

     Marlys M. Johnson, age 88 of St. Clair, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
     Funeral services will be Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. at Hilltop United Methodist Church in Mankato, with Pastor Kelly McCuaig officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.
     Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Mayo Hospice or Hilltop United Methodist Church.
     Marlys Mae was born on September 6, 1928 to Elroy “Stub” and Viola (Schroeder) Juliar in Mankato, Minnesota. She graduated from St. Clair High School and then attended Mankato Commercial College. On October 16, 1948 she was united in marriage to Hubert Johnson in St. Clair, MN. For many years she was employed at St. Clair State Bank retiring in 1988. Marlys was a longtime member of Hilltop United Methodist Church in Mankato.  She was active in Card Clubs, Bowling Leagues, Bingo, and enjoyed trips to the Casino. Marlys was always very supportive of various clubs and organizations. She enjoyed cooking, baking for her family and the church. Marlys loved time spent at her cabin and pontoon rides on the lake with her family and friends. She never forgot any birthdays or anniversaries.
     She is survived by her children; Greg (Vickie) Johnson of St. Louis, MO, Joel “Bones” Johnson of Blaine, and Pam (Dan) Obey of St. Clair; grandchildren, Jason and Stacey Fitzloff, Ryan and Callie Obey, Erik and Brannon Johnson, Ken Mesle; by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
     She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert on October 7, 2007; parents, Elroy and Viola Juliar; sister, Ardyce “Junie” Swan.
