Lesley E. Peterson, 93, Rapidan, died Monday, April 30, 2018 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.  Funeral service will be held at 11am Friday May, 4, 2018 at Hilltop United Methodist Church in Mankato  Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Thursday, May 3 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church.  Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.  
Les was born May 23, 1924 to Paul and Mable (Rollings) Peterson.  He served in the United States Army during World War II in the 101st Airborne Division.  He fought in the Battle of the Bulge.  On February 15, 1947 he was united in marriage to Norma Mogensen in St. Peter, Minnesota. After their marriage Norma and Lesley lived in North Mankato for a short time before moving their family to Rapidan in 1961.   Les worked at Honeymead for 22 years.  He walked three miles every morning and biked three miles every evening for years.  Les also loved horses, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  
He is survived by sons, Mark Peterson of Rapidan, Randall (Gayle) Peterson of North Mankato, and Gene (Cherry) Peterson of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Jeff and Jen Peterson of Mound, Kimberlee and Bart Stoltzman of Farmington, Lucas Peterson of St. Paul, Adam Peterson of St. Paul, Craig Peterson of North Mankato, Michelle and Ken Lauer of New Richmond, WI., Brian Peterson of Mankato, Thomas (Sahari) Peterson of Pflugerville, TX, and David Peterson of Sugarland, TX; 12 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Paula Peterson of Mankato.  and many nieces, nephews and their families.  
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, Steven in 2014; and eight siblings, Clifford Peterson, Alice VanderLouw, Clarence Peterson, Pauline Roe Cloudchild, Rozella Peterson, Donald Peterson, Raymond Peterson, and Ruth Blow.
