    Patricia A. “Pat” Kongshaug, age 89 of Mankato, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.
    A Celebration of Patricia’s life will be Friday, March 22, 2019 from 4:30 to 7:30 P.M. with a Prayer service at 7:30 P.M. at Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park at a later date.
    Patricia Ann was born on April 5, 1929 to Austin and Opal (Henry) Spears in Baldwin, Wisconsin. She graduated from Baldwin High School in 1947 and then furthered her education at Miss Woods School for Kindergarten Teachers in Minneapolis. Pat graduated in 1949 and taught in Montpelier North Dakota for a year. On August 19, 1950 she was united in marriage to Richard S. Kongshaug at St. Mary’s Church in Hammond, Wisconsin. They moved to Mankato and after a short time returned to Baldwin where she taught Kindergarten for a few years. In 1961 Pat and Richard moved their family back to Mankato. Besides being a homemaker, Pat provided foster care for many years for children through MRCI and other organizations. She enjoyed volunteering at the MRCI Thrift Shop in Mankato, knitting, cross stitch, and gardening. Pat loved spending time with her family and friends.
    She is survived by her sons, Steve (Darlene) Kongshaug of Baldwin, WI; Phil (Rhonda) Kongshaug of Racine, WI; daughter, Ann (Daron) Fromm of North Mankato; 6 grandchildren, Angie (Nick Redlin) Kongshaug of Racine, WI, Dan Kongshaug of Louisville, KY, Laura Kongshaug of Milwaukee, WI, Jim (Elizabeth) Kongshaug of Farmington, Ally Kongshaug of North Mankato, Cody Fromm of North Mankato; by other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard on May 1, 2005; brother, Thomas Spears.
