Loretta “Snooks” was born on March 11, 1926 and raised by Urban and Virginia (Sassen) Ficks. She graduated from Good Thunder High School, and furthered her education with a degree in Business College. On August 14, 1948 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Rueben “Curly” Voight. Snooks and Curly made their home in Mankato, and the Lord blessed them with a son Rick. Curly and Snooks happily traveled on road trips, rode motorcycle, fished and hunted. She was a homemaker and was also employed as a secretary for Rice Architect until her retirement. Snooks was known for her immaculate yard, and house cleaning. She would be found running off to garage sales, thrift stores or continuously shopping. She loved time spent with her family, especially her two grandsons, Nick and Cody which lifted her soul. She spent much time spoiling these boys, with French toast or Happy meals or picnics.
She is survived by her son, Rick (Kathy) Voight of Mankato; grandson’s, Nick Voight of Mankato, and Cody Voight of Mankato; sisters, Vivian (Marvin) Schubbe of Mapleton, Joan Probach of Mapleton; brother-in-law, Asa Miller of Orlando, FL; by many beloved nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband/Curly (2013); Earl Fleishman, Donald Fichs, Lois Miller, Roland Voight, and Harold Voight.
